Book trailer

A very talented student at Newhouse, Shelby Hadden, created this trailer for my forthcoming memoir, BRAVE GIRL EATING: A FAMILY'S STRUGGLE WITH ANOREXIA. Isn't technology great?

Let me know what you think.

A wonderful video, even when viewed on my video-challenged creaky old computer. Brought tears to my eyes. My daughter went through this years ago, but she is OK now. Can't wait for the book. HB is a genius, although she would deny it.

Bill, I'm no genius! But I am blushing.

I don't know why, but I hate it. Looking forward to the book though.

Powerful video. My daughter is just now coming on the other side of this terrible terrible disease, and watching the trailer just punched me in the gut as I remembered how it was only a year ago. Thank you for writing this book. I am anxious to read it. We also used the Maudsley Method. My prayer is that she is strong enough now to handle her first year in college.

Kathy,

I wish you and your daughter well.

We made a mistake when our daughter went off for the first time--I think none of us wanted to think about anorexia again, so we didn't build in enough safeguards (weekly weigh-ins at a doctor's office, for instance), and though she tried really hard, the disease caught up with her again. So my best advice is to stay vigilant for a few years yet.

Best wishes.

The trailer is very good. The sad part is that I see myself as the girl in the video. I can't wait until I recover from my Ed so I don't see myself so much in this girl! But, it is a very good video that makes you think.

Anonymous,

You WILL recover. You're obviously very motivated and a strong person. I'm rooting for you!

Why thank you! I sometimes feel that I'm never going to recover but there is a part of me that knows recovery is possible. Thanks again for the kind words!
