"Plus-sized" models in a mag spread

While I question the plus-sized designation on some of these women (one is a size 10, which is plus-sized only in the insane world of fashion), I love these elegant spreads from an Australian magazine called Madison. A shout-out to Australian blogger Julie Parker for linking them on her blog, Beautiful You.

That is so pretty. I love seeing things like that. I do think it's weird that "plus-size" designations are given to models who don't technically wear plus-size clothes. It always used to frustrate me to go into a plus-size store or department and look at the models and still not look anything like them. It made it very demoralizing to go shopping. I think we should appreciate all body types, and I'm glad these women can get modeling work period, it's just kind of a strange message being put across.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The fashion world is a strange place.

these images kind of make me think...
about myself, which is too self-centered, but... WHAT IS THE IDEAL WEIGHT?
is it the one you're comfortable to be at? i look great, healthy BMI, just a bit extra fat and not enough muscles for my age. but i am still uncomfortable with the way i am.
gosh, this is too confusing. where are my judgments and where are society's? or are they the same?
